Spring Fever

You can hear the sounds of spring in our neck of the woods these days. The lawn crews work year round down here, but only at businesses. But today, they are in full swing in our neighborhood... mowing, edging, weed-eating, weeding, trimming bushes, etc. It's an all too familiar sound that we just bottled up just a few months ago. Come on y'all, can't we have at least one more month before I have to break out our lawn mower? Argh. And my goal this mowing season is to start the weed-eater and keep it running long enough to hack some yard up. I must learn this trade.

We ventured to the park today. It was windy and slightly warm. The kids are wiped out in their beds for naps. I checked on them a minute ago and was welcomed (into each room) by an all too familiar smell... OUTSIDE. Oh yuck!! How I hate that smell. Trixie smells like that everytime we let her in. Ewwwwww!!!

The sun is beaming thru the windows and the front door. It's beginning to stay lighter later (say that 5 times fast). The cold season recipes are slowly edging themselves out of rotation. And all this to say I bet we hit another stinkin' cold spell before we settle in for good. We'll take whatever!!

*This photo is from last summer. But I laughed when I saw it b/c this is how we roll during the warm springs and hot summers. Diapers only in these parts!! A quick story: when we go to Arkansas to visit, my mom always gets a kick out of my kids always trying to take their pants off. But I'm quick to remind her that's how we live for about 7 months down here. Gotta love you some Texas heat!!
