What I Learned??

We now have a playset in our backyard. Pictures to follow soon. In the meantime, I think it's important to reflect a moment and discuss with y'all what exactly I learned thru all this.

* 6 hours on the box actually interprets as 600 hours. Just kidding. Or am I?

* Don't be proud! Get help and tell your wife to stay inside. Only consult her on very important matters such as WHAT'S FOR LUNCH? and WHERE DO YOU WANT THIS STUPID THING TO BE PLACED IN THE YARD?. I'm sorry, Russ didn't actually call it a 'stupid thing'... but I interpreted it as that from the scowl on his face.

* Don't be proud, again! My manly husband was dead sexy with his man purse tied around his waste. When I asked him WHY?, he growled back at me and said IT MAKES LIFE EASIER. Here's what I think that meant... 'I'm tired, there are 1 million screws, and if I get up one more time to retrieve one... I think my knees might fall off'!!

* Don't go outside (with said mother-in-law) while the kids are napping, and pretend to care and then complain b/c it's hot.

* Hire a cook. In our case, we hired Catering by Connie to tend to all the food and drink needs.

* Coach your kids the entire time to be OVERLY EXCITED when they finish. This is a must!!

* Don't go outside while the building process is still underway and try to clean up the yard. Yes, that made me crazy. But I only did it once. And they growled at me.

* Do check the sprinkler system and make sure you are not placing the equipment over a sprinkler head. Still not sure if this affects us, but it sounded like a great point to make.

* And finally, confront the real reason as to why you are putting up a playset. I thought this would be a great escape for the kids. Hah!! Low and behold I found their dad in the fort last night, rolling cars down the slide. I knew it!! Boys...
