After finally getting Holt up and fed... we headed out. We detoured southeast about 30 minutes from Amarillo to visit the Palo Duro Canyon. It is known as the second largest canyon in the United States. It is 120 miles long, 20 miles wide, and has a depth of more than 800 feet. Not too shabby in comparison to the Grand Canyon.
After we left the canyon, we headed west towards Glorieta. There is absolutely nothing between Amarillo and our destination, except the occasional wind farm, a large cattle company, dead shrubs, and 18 wheelers. So, pretty boring drive... the expression on Holt's face sums it all up!
We finally landed in Glorieta around 5:00pm. We checked into our room and chilled for a bit. We stayed at the Glorieta Convention Center (owned by Lifeway Ministries) in the Hall of States. We ate dinner at the Bobcat Bite, a locally owned "hole in the road" burger joint. This came highly recommended by our Pastor. He was just out there and ate there 3 times... What in the world?? If you are ever in the Santa Fe/Glorieta area... please go there. Russ believes it just might be the BEST burger he has ever consumed. Be prepared to wait... the old building only seats 24 people at a time, and that's pushing it.

The best burger huh -- yep, I have to try this place! I want to see more pictures!!! :)
Hey Britney Spears, you're supposed to have Holt in the car seat when you're driving. That look on his face is pure fear, not boredom.
